OSHKOSH, Wis. (WBAY) – XRoads41 is bringing live music back to Oshkosh’s south side, more than five years after Country USA and Rock USA held their last festivals on the site.
The economic impact of the pandemic forced Hypervibe, the promoter of Country USA and Rock USA, to file for bankruptcy.
Under new management, the festival will feature a diverse group of artists, led by headliners Old Dominion, Brooks & Dunn and Journey. The organizers have also put together a setlist that offers something for everyone.
“The name ‘XRoads41’ was really inspired by bringing together genres you wouldn’t normally expect and you see that throughout the lineup,” says XRoads41 ambassador Makenna Mae. “It’s an incredible experience, it runs smoothly, it’s fun and we want it to be unforgettable.”
On the first day, visitors were able to take a first look at the new stage structure, which now has a new VIP grandstand.
Festival-goers say they like the way the event is put together.
“It’s beautiful, they did a great job,” says Miranda Check. “Actually, I feel like it’s a bit more family-friendly this time. I love the diversity. I think that’s important.”
“It was just so well organized and they did a great job of modernizing it,” says Kerry Kulick. “We’re all pleasantly surprised at how easy everything was.”
“Everything is good,” says Christian Kwan-Rice. “We’re all having fun here and that’s what it’s all about.”
By the end of the weekend, 18 of the country’s most famous artists and bands will have performed at XRoads41. The organizers are excited to see the final number of participants after the weekend.
