CONWAY, SC – Coastal Carolina defensive player Will Whitson was named to the Reese’s Senior Bowl Watch List, the organization announced Wednesday.
Whitson, a second-team preseason All-Sun Belt selection, played in all 13 games last season. The sophomore recorded 42 total tackles last year, including 19 solo stops, 5.0 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks and five QB hurries. A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Whitson was previously named to the East-West Shrine 1000 List. He is a first-team preseason All-Sun Belt selection by Phil Steele, as well as a fourth-team preseason All-Sun Belt selection by Athlon Sports.

The Reese’s Senior Bowl is widely considered the preeminent All-Star game in college football and the first stop in the NFL Draft process. The longest continuously running All-Star game in the last 75 years was held in Mobile, Alabama. More than 900 NFL personnel, including key decision makers from all 32 teams, and over 1,100 media representatives from across the country were accredited this year. Last April, the game produced a total of 110 players selected, representing 43 percent of the entire NFL Draft.
