After this year’s WNBA All-Star Game in Phoenix attracted a record 3.44 million viewers – more than 2 million more than the previous high set in 2003 – the league is benefiting from its growth.
Thanks to its stars, including rookies Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese, the WNBA is more popular than ever. The 2024 All-Star Game was one of 17 games this year with a viewership of over one million, a feat no WNBA competition had achieved in 16 years prior to this season.
After the success of this year’s All-Star weekend, which featured a thrilling clash between the league’s best players and Team USA, the WNBA is sure to put just as much, if not more, effort into next year’s event.
Here’s everything you need to know about the host of next year’s WNBA All-Star Game.

Where will the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game take place?
As ESPN’s Alexa Philippou reports, the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game will take place in Indianapolis, home of Clark and the Fever.
The city’s Gainbridge Fieldhouse hosted the 2024 NBA All-Star Game, and next summer the arena will host the WNBA edition for the first time.
Caitlin Clark’s impact on Indiana Fever
Clark’s presence in Indiana was most likely the deciding factor in the Fever’s participation in the All-Star Game. The franchise selected the Iowa phenom with the No. 1 pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft.
Indiana’s roster already included Aliyah Boston and NaLyssa Smith, but since signing the NCAA’s all-time leading scorer, the Fever have made great strides on and off the court, contending for a playoff spot and leading the league in attendance.
The Fever lead the league in home and away attendance, up 265% from last season and averaging 16,898 fans for 11 home games. (Gainbridge Fieldhouse has a capacity of 18,000.)
Indiana also has 38 nationally televised games this year (the most in the league), 10 of which have set WNBA viewership records on multiple networks. The team is ranked seventh at the midpoint of the season with an 11-15 record, has gained 1.3 million social media followers since the April draft and leads the league in sponsorships.
