Tim Walz accepts nomination as Vice President, Bill Clinton will speak on the third day

The Democratic National Convention is in full swing in Chicago as delegates and party supporters usher in the third day of the event, which will see Minnesota Governor Tim Walz accept the vice presidential nomination on Wednesday evening.

Other speakers who will speak on the third night of the convention under the motto “A Fight for Our Freedoms” include former President Bill Clinton, former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. Actress Mindy Kaling is the evening’s celebrity moderator.

On the second night of the DNC, former President Barack Obama, former First Lady Michelle Obama and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff delivered stirring speeches, who paid a heartfelt tribute to his wife, Vice President Kamala Harris.

Every night of the DNC, running through Thursday, will be streamed on YouTube, and you can watch it on cable or through streamers like Hulu, Paramount+, Peacock and Max.

    Angela Alsobrooks, the Democratic Senate candidate for Maryland and longtime friend of Vice President Kamala Harris, had delegates at the Democratic National Convention chanting “We are not going back” after delivering a rousing speech Tuesday night about Harris’ record as an accuser and their 14-year relationship.

    “I have always been inspired by women like my grandmother, women who envision a better future and then have the courage to make it a reality,” Alsobrooks said. “One of them is a friend, a mentor and a role model. That woman is Kamala Harris. Let me tell you about the Kamala I know.”

    She praised Harris as a “super-bad district attorney” who is able to hold violent criminals accountable while also advancing programs to end recidivism.

    Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is expected to formally accept the Democratic nomination for vice president on Wednesday evening.

    Walz appeared at the convention on Monday night, where his two children, Gus and Hope, held up bunny ears behind him during an interview. On Tuesday night, Walz did not attend the convention, but instead appeared at a campaign rally in Milwaukee alongside Vice President Kamala Harris.

    Former First Lady Michelle Obama delivered a powerful speech at the Democratic National Convention in her hometown of Chicago on Tuesday, declaring that “hope is returning” thanks to the growing candidacy of Vice President Kamala Harris.

    “There’s something wonderfully magical in the air, isn’t there?” she began. “We feel it here in this arena, but it’s spreading across this land we love, a familiar feeling that’s been buried too deep for too long. You know what I’m talking about. It’s the contagious power of hope.”

    “America, hope is returning,” she added.

    Former President Barack Obama closed the second night of the DNC with his stirring speech.

    “Let’s get to work,” he urged the crowd to thunderous applause.
