What do speedboys and galloping ghosts have in common?

What about bubblers and suedes? Steamrollers and clovers?

And what could a looter share with a millionaire?

Each of them is the mascot of a high school in Pennsylvania. Once football season begins on August 23, the Blazers could face off against the Blue Streaks, the Big Macs against the Mighty Mikes and Muhls against the Golden Mules.

High School Football in Pennsylvania: Important dates for the 2024 season

Why is Smethport called “Hubbers”? It is the “hub” of McKean County.

Pennsylvania has more than 700 high schools with interscholastic sports programs. We looked at the Eagles, Panthers, Tigers and Knights.
