We may have to wait a long time before we hear anything about The Elder Scrolls 6but a new series game will be released soon. The Elder Scrolls: Castles is a mobile title in the style of Nuclear shelter which will be released on iOS and Android.
Bethesda announced Thursday that the mobile title will launch worldwide on September 10. Pre-registration is now available on the App Store and Google Play Store.
In Castlesyou play the right hand of a ruler who has to manage a castle. Many other game elements will seem familiar to you. Nuclear shelter Players. You can customize your castle with rooms, edit the layout little by little, and add decorations for appearance or as a bonus. For example, the video shows a dragon painting that can increase all players’ health regeneration by 5%, as well as a lantern that reduces oil consumption.
You also need to assign workers to tasks that they are particularly good at based on their stats and personality traits. Increase the happiness of residents and they will have babies that will expand your kingdom.
There are things to do outside of your castle too. You can complete quests for resources and fight enemies. In many ways, it’s a sort of standard mobile combat where you equip the right tools and let your characters start fighting automatically, although the developers say it’s difficult to master.
As opposed to Nuclear shelterwhich involves keeping the inhabitants of your vaults alive and happy, much of the game is spent helping your monarch rule. This includes helping them make decisions, like how to deal with ogre raids. And you have to make the “right” decisions. If your advice isn’t well received or happiness drops, people can die – including your monarch. If that happens, though, you can simply appoint a new one.
Back to the fight: There’s also a new roguelike mode where you select upgrades and fight enemies in endless mode.
This is not the first Elder Scrolls mobile title. Bethesda released the action-oriented The Elder Scrolls: Blades in 2020, and while the combat was fun, it was marred by microtransactions. Castles Surprise, released in Early Access in 2023, but the studio has remained largely tight-lipped about it prior to today’s announcement.
