The documentary series “Nöthin’ But A Good Time” shows how absurd Hair Metal was

We all know that the 80s were a crazy time in every way. Drugs, sex and rock ‘n’ roll, or whatever the saying goes, was the definition of metal back then. All that and a lot of hairspray. Thanks to a new docuseries from Paramount+ called Drugs, Sex and Rock ‘n’ Roll, we get a glimpse into the outrageous lifestyles of the hair metal bands of the time. Nothing but a good time: The uncensored history of 80s hair metal. They just released a trailer for it, which you can watch below.

The three-part series aims to show exactly how silly bands like Guns N’ Roses, Quiet Riot, Poison and Def Leppard were, and tell a little about what it was like for them and how one of the most ridiculous (in a good way) subgenres of metal ever entered the scene. It is based on the book of the same name by Richard Bienstock and Tom Beaujour and is hosted by Jeff Tremaine of Donkey Fame, who was also heavily involved in this unintentionally funny Mötley Crüe biopic The dirt.

There will also be exclusive interviews with Dave “Snake” Sabo of Skid Row, Stephen Pearcy of Ratt, Bret Michaels of Poison, and coincidentally Corey Taylor of Slipknot. Also in attendance will be former MTV host Riki Rachtman and everyone’s favorite douchebag Steve-O.

Nöthin’ But a Good Time: The uncensored history of 80s hair metal is set to be released on the streaming platform in the US on September 17th and internationally the following day. I think this will be one of the most entertaining documentaries in a long time and hopefully it will make us all appreciate hair metal a little more – even if it’s just for a laugh. I mean that in the most respectful sense, but I highly doubt any of these bands would be offended. It was all about fun back then anyway, drugs, sex and music wise.
