In a post on X, Trump questioned the effectiveness of US diplomacy and stressed that he perceived a lack of commitment on the part of President Joe Biden.
“Who is negotiating for us in the Middle East? Bombs are falling everywhere! Sleepy Joe is sleeping on a beach in California, brutally banned by the Democrats, and Comrade Kamala is doing a campaign bus tour with Tampon Tim, her really bad vice presidential pick. Let’s not Third World Warbecause that is where we are headed!” Trump said.
Trump’s comments come against a backdrop of severe tensions in the Middle East region following a series of military actions involving Israel and Hezbollah.
In recent days, Israeli forces have carried out extensive airstrikes on Hezbollah rocket launchers and military infrastructure in Lebanon. The action was reportedly in response to an alleged imminent threat from Hezbollah, which Israel said was preparing to launch rockets into Israeli territory.
However, Hezbollah has strongly denied these allegations, calling them baseless. The group has since responded with attacks of its own, which it has described as the “first phase” of its response to the Israeli actions.
Israel has declared a 48-hour state of emergency in response to the ongoing violence as tensions continue to escalate. Israeli forces have launched a series of airstrikes on Hezbollah positions and warned Lebanese civilians in southern Lebanon of possible retaliation.
Trump had previously expressed his displeasure with Vice President Kamala Harris and criticized her response to the conflict.
In her recent speech at the Democratic National Convention (DNC), Harris reiterated her commitment to Israel’s right to self-defense and condemned the actions of Hamas, the militant group in the Gaza Strip. Harris stressed that Israel must have the ability to defend itself, but at the same time acknowledged the widespread suffering of the Palestinians.
Trump, on the other hand, expressed his disapproval on his Truth Social account, saying Harris’ policies could lead the United States into a larger and more dangerous conflict.
