Osage County School District R-2 was closed Wednesday while police searched for a suspect following a chase across county lines.
According to the Osage County Sheriff’s Facebook page, a suspect crashed a car after a chase on Tuesday and was able to escape.
The superintendent announced in a Facebook post that out of an abundance of caution, all classes and activities have been canceled until further notice.
The sheriff’s office said the pursuit began in Franklin County, went through Gasconade County and eventually entered Osage County, where the crash occurred.
The suspect crashed near Highway 50 E. and Highway 89 N., about two miles from Linn High School.
Multiple agencies are searching for a man, but two women have been arrested, according to the Osage County Sheriff’s Office.
The district announced the possibility of class cancellations on Tuesday evening. The social media post states that the day will be treated as a snow day.
Classes for the new school year began on Tuesday.
