What is the story
Pakistan cricket batsman Saim Ayub struck his maiden Test fifty. The opening batsman scored 56 runs from 98 balls on the first day of the first Test against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi.
After a rain delay that resulted in many overs being lost, Pakistan got off to a terrible start.

A solid position in the offer
Pakistan were in a lot of trouble after Bangladesh conceded three wickets early on.
Ayub and Saud Shakeel brought the hosts forward with a combative partnership.
The duo batted with positive intent and kept the scoreboard moving, scoring 65 runs by teatime before carrying the momentum into the final session.
Ayub seemed relaxed and made sure he helped his team.
An unnecessary sending off for Ayub
Ayub was travelling well before dying just after a drinks break. Hasan Mahmud’s full pass outside the off-field area could have been left out but Ayub drifted and fired the ball to the slip cordon.
4. Fifty in FC cricket for Ayub
Ayub, 22, is taking part in only his second Test. In his first Test match in Sydney against Australia earlier this year, he scored 33 runs in two innings. He has 89 runs at 29.66. According to ESPNcricinfohe reached his fourth fifty in first-class cricket.
