The application deadline for the 2025 Oscar for Best International Film is open. Screen introduces each one on this page.

The 97th Academy Awards are scheduled to take place on March 3, 2025, at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.

An international feature film is defined as a feature-length film (over 40 minutes) produced outside the United States with dialogue predominantly (more than 50%) in languages ​​other than English. It can include both animation and documentaries.

Submitted films must have been released in theaters in their respective countries between November 1, 2023, and September 30, 2024. The Academy deadline for submissions is October 2.

The shortlist of 15 finalists is expected to be announced on December 17, with the final five nominees to be announced on January 17, 2025.

Taiwan: Old Fox (Hsiao Ya-Chuan)
