We’ve reached the “Elite Eight” after four more teams were eliminated from the Little League World Series on Tuesday, including Staten Island’s South Shore Little League.
Twenty teams entered the biggest stage in youth sports, but after six days of the Little League World Series in Williamsport, only eight remain.
The 38-game double-elimination tournament began last Wednesday and the standings look very different than they did on day one. Thankfully, they continue to be updated and are available for download.

Twenty teams — ten from the United States and ten from around the world — have already graced the field at Volunteer Stadium and Lamade Stadium in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, in the past week. Staten Island’s own South Shore LL finished the summer with a record of 19-4 after losing to Florida on Tuesday.
Two more teams from each side will be eliminated on Wednesday and Thursday before the U.S. and international championship games on Saturday. The 11-day event concludes with the world championship game on Sunday.
Each day until the semifinals, there will be two matches on the international tour and two matches in the US group.
