“I have never sung in public before!”

“I have never sung in public before!”

Lorraine Kelly thinks she wasn’t “wonderful” on “The Masked Singer.”

The 64-year-old presenter took part in ITV1’s singing competition, which sees celebrities conceal their identities under extravagant costumes, and sang pop hits including Kylie Minogue’s ‘Padam Padam’. However, after being unmasked as Owl, she admitted that although she had never sung in public before, it was a “joy” for her to take part in the show.

She told ITV’s This Morning: “It wasn’t great because I’d never sung in public before, but the nice thing is that when the head is on, you can’t see anything. I couldn’t see the audience, I didn’t have to do anything, I was just busy learning the lyrics.”

“I’d never done it before and where do you get the chance to sing in front of an audience and have so much fun? There’s not enough silliness in the world! It was just fun to do, it’s just a joyful show.”

The legend of daytime television has built a glittering career on screen over the years. She first presented “TV-am” in the 1980s, then launched “GMTV” in the following years before getting her own show “Lorraine” in 2010. However, she stressed that she always wanted to keep up with the times.

She said: “I feel incredibly lucky. I still love it, every single day is different and every day is a school day.”

“I love the fact that I have a team of people of all ages. The young ones keep me young and up to date! It’s like my daughter (Rosie). She helps me with technology because you have to keep up with things and be curious about things. Curiosity is the best thing, isn’t it?”
