DRY lips are a thing of the past for one beauty fanatic who has found the perfect copy of an expensive cult favorite.

Her lip mask costs half the price of Laneige’s but still gives her a fuller pout.

A Reddit user said in a post on the platform that her lip mask “dupe” from Elf outperformed the “original.”

“Laneige feels like Vaseline on my lips compared to the ‘Holy Hydration’ lip mask,” she raved.

“It also comes with a small spatula. (It) smells a bit like grapes, but very subtle.”

Laneige has been praised by beauty influencers for its hydrating properties, leading to a cult following for the product.

GENTLE CUSHION

The Reddit user raved about the lip mask copy, saying it helped her maintain a healthier pout.

“My lips look a little fuller and peel a lot less,” she said.

“Normally I have to avoid squalene, but this actually works for me.”

Several other Reddit users preferred Elf’s lip mask over Laneige’s version.

“I think it’s a good fake,” wrote one.

“I never thought the Laneige was worth the $20, but the Elf one is hydrating and smoothing, almost plumping overnight.

Another person said they use an even cheaper product on their lips that may not work for everyone.

“I used to use Laneige lip mask, but then switched to Vaseline Lip Therapy in the small tube,” they said.

“It actually lasts all night, lasts for months, and costs about $2. I can never go back.”

“Vaseline makes my lips peel like crazy so this was the better option for me,” the original poster replied.

THE DIFFERENCE

Elf uses hyaluronic acid, squalane and castor oil to promote hydration, prevent skin aging and lock in moisture.

The Laneige lip mask contains antioxidants from their “Berry Fruit Complex” as well as moisture from murumuru seeds and shea butter.

The Elf lip mask can be used day and night and combined with other lip products.

Laneige’s lip mask is advertised for overnight use, but many beauty influencers use it throughout the day due to its hydration content and flattering shine.

“I’ve been using it for about a month now and use it both day and night,” wrote one Sephora reviewer about the Laneige lip mask.

“Personally, I have chronically dry lips that are so severe that they crack and bleed. This saved them, they look like normal lips every day.”
