“Harry Potter” star plays villain in Marvel’s “Fantastic Four”

“Harry Potter” star Ralph Ineson will play the main villain in Marvel Studios’ “Fantastic Four.”

According to Deadline, Ineson was cast in the role of Galactus, a cosmic being known as the “Eater of Worlds” because he devours planets throughout the multiverse.

The villain was created by Marvel Comics visionaries Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and made his first appearance in 1966 in Fantastic Four #48.

His appearance in the MCU’s first Fantastic Four film was hinted at earlier this year with the news that Ozark’s Julia Garner would play an incarnation of the Silver Surfer.

The Surfer serves as Galactus’s herald, and thus it is his job to announce Galactus’s existence on each new planet he intends to devour.

Ineson memorably played the dark wizard Amycus Carrow in the last three Harry Potter films and also appeared in The Office, Game of Thrones and Chernobyl.

His casting comes on the heels of news that two-time Oscar nominee and Primetime Emmy Award-winning actor John Malkovich will also be joining the MCU in Fantastic Four, although his role remains under wraps.

Paul Walter Hauser, the star of “Cobra Kai” and “Richard Jewell,” also recently appeared in the film in an as-yet-unnamed role.

Marvel Studios announced the exciting news on Valentine’s Day that the MCU’s First Family will be played by Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.

Joseph Quinn has since admitted that he has “big shoes to fill” with the role of Johnny Storm/The Human Torch, as Chris Evans has played the hero in two Fantastic Four films outside the MCU.

The release of “Fantastic Four” is scheduled for July 25, 2025.
