Mac’s Pub in the Silverton neighborhood of Toms River is hosting a “Half Way To St Patrick’s Day” party on Sunday, September 15, starting at noon.
This is the second annual Half Way To St Patty’s Day Party hosted by Mac’s Pub, formerly known as McIntyre’s Pub for many years. I wrote last year about the name change and the renovation of the establishment. Last year’s party was a huge success and there’s no reason to believe this year’s won’t be a huge success again. The event will take place no matter the weather. The party will be held at Mac’s Pub in the Anchorage Plaza at 1747 Hooper Avenue in the Silverton section of Toms River, but also outside where a huge tent will be set up for people to enjoy the warm late summer weather.
Live music from Ireland!
There will be live entertainment with bagpipers throughout the day and a live performance by the great Irish group Ballyhaunis from 12.30pm.
The music continues later in the day when another fantastic band takes the stage at Macs Pub for their Half Way To St Patty’s Day Party. The band Hit happy The live performances start at 4:00 p.m. and last until the evening.
Don’t forget to get some delicious Irish food!
In addition to great live music, Mac’s Pub serves what they are best known for: great drinks and the best food in Silverton! Since new owners Pat and Genesia took over the place, the menu has grown in leaps and bounds.
Of course, you can still get the good old pub burger or Mac’s famous mussels, but now there are some new and delicious additions to the menu that you should definitely check out if you’re heading to the Half Way To St Patty’s Day party. Of course, if you’re looking for traditional Irish dishes, you’ll definitely find those too. From the recently returned Irish nachos to classics like Irish egg rolls, corned beef and cabbage, and my favourite dish, Mac’s delicious Shepherd’s Pie! Wash it all down with a pint or five of Guinness and you’re set!
It promises to be a fun day of dancing, drinking and wearing green at Mac’s Pub in Toms River on Saturday, September 15th starting at 12 noon!

Believe it or not, Jimmy’s first job was working the night shift at a Christian radio station. He claims he got into radio because, as Rocky Balboa once said, “I can’t sing or dance.” Jimmy enjoys writing about all local happenings, especially his town of Toms River. Favorite activity (besides masturbation, of course): Cheering on the Yankees and howling after the JETS!!! Favorite food: Hot sauce…I collect it! Favorite drink: PRUNO…look it up if you dare! Favorite movies: The Exorcist, Planet of the Apes (the original), To Kill a Mockingbird, Annie Hall, and of course GF 1 & GF 2…I’ve heard the real fans call them that. Favorite movie quote: easy…Murry-Caddyshack-“big hitter, the llama”…damn riot! Best Rat Rock Bands: STP, VH, ZEP, PEARL JAM, FOOS, PEPPERS, AC/DC. New Favorite Bands: Glorious Sons, Rival Sons, Dirty Honey. Most Embarrassing Moment: The moment my mom reads this crap! Best Day: I know a lot of people say this, but it’s true: the day my little girl Jynell and my boy Big D were born! After that, it would have to be the day I got stoned in Central Park on Earth Day and met Keefer Sutherland… also stoned, I think.
