Florida Polytechnic University achieved the highest enrollment in the institution’s history and opened the doors to a brand new, state-of-the-art student residence hall.
Total enrollment at Florida Poly for the fall 2024 semester reached over 1,700 students, an increase of about 6% from the previous year. This includes a total of 600 new students, including graduate and transfer students.
The new academic year also saw the opening of the university’s third residence hall. The 13,000-square-foot facility expands the housing options on campus by 430 additional beds. Construction workers are working on the finishing touches and students are already settling in and getting to know their roommates and neighbors.
“It is incredibly exciting to begin this new academic year with such remarkable campus growth and record enrollment numbers that reflect the increasing demand for a Florida Poly education,” said Dr. Devin Stephensonthe president of the university. “Students recognize the quality and advantage that Florida Poly can offer for their future and the difference we make in preparing them for the high-tech career opportunities that lie ahead. This is how we build Florida’s High-tech economy.”
Florida Poly’s increased enrollment numbers this year come with statistics that underscore the high quality of the university’s students.
This fall, Florida Poly’s admitted students included:
- Average grade point average: 4.5
- Average SAT score: 1328
- Average ACT score: 30
88% of new students come from Florida and out-of-state students represent more than 20 other states, including Wisconsin, new York And Colorado.
The University celebrated the 10th anniversary of opening its doors to students on 16.August. Campus is far busier this week than it was during the first few days of 2014. Not only are there more students than the 554 who enrolled in 2014, but the campus has grown significantly and now features striking buildings and student amenities.
