Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is one of the most immersive themed areas in all of Disney World.
It is home to two of the most popular attractions at Disney’s Hollywood Studios — Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run (which we now know will have a new storyline in the future!). Many star Wars Fans flock to this area and spend a large portion of their vacation exploring the ENTIRE area and meeting as many characters as possible. We heard about a special event happening at Galaxy’s Edge last night and knew we had to check it out – we were NOT disappointed!
On August 24, there was a Lightsaber meeting in Galaxy’s Edge that was supposed to start when the sun went down. What was that event, you ask? Well, it’s an unofficial Star Wars fan event where fans came together to show off their lightsabers and enjoy each other’s company before the park closed!
We made sure to get there just before sunset. Even though it was still light, we saw some people waiting for the event to start…
…and then we saw more and more people joining us as the sun got lower and lower.
When it got dark, There were lots of people with their lightsabers ready for the event! We even met an AllEars fan, Autumn, who not only had her lightsaber with her but was also dressed up for the event — You look amazing, Autumn, and it was so great meeting you!
Although this was not an official Disney or Disney fan event, Disney still performed the show in front of the First Order TIE Echelon at the beginning of the event!
If you would like to attend a future event, you can participate in a special Discord and fans will post information about the meeting. Further dates and details can also be found on Facebook and Instagram. The meeting was pretty great!
Breedlove, who covered the event, even got a feel for it and took some EPIC photos with a lightsaber! Doesn’t he look amazing?
