A list of all the games featured in Amazon’s promising “Secret Level” show

A list of all the games featured in Amazon’s promising “Secret Level” show

There were a lot of announcements at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live show on Tuesday, but one looked particularly great to almost everyone. And it’s not even a game. Rather, it’s Amazon Prime Video’s new anthology series Secret Level, where each episode tells a story set in a specific game universe and includes both new titles and some of the most classic series of all time.

There was a trailer that briefly introduced them all and gave players their own impression of what was on offer, but now we actually have a full list of the games the series focuses on. It is:

  • PAC-MAN
  • Warhammer 40,000
  • Unity
  • Mega Man
  • Unreal Tournament
  • New World: Aeternum
  • Armored core
  • Speleology
  • Honor of Kings
  • Sifu
  • Dungeons & Dragons
  • The outer worlds
  • Crossfire
  • Exodus
  • PlayStation (with numerous PS games and characters)

As you can see, some of them are so new that they could almost be a promotional campaign for the game in question, like Concord and The Outer Worlds, which will get a sequel later on. Others are dormant series like Mega Man, and fans are excited to see games like Armored Core because it apparently stars… Keanu Reeves.

If you’re thinking this looks like Love, Death and Robots on Netflix, guess what? It’s from the creators of that show, who have now taken the concept to a new level. Here’s a quote from Amazon themselves:

“Secret Level weaves a web of iconic games across multiple mediums to tell a series of unique and compelling stories,” said Vernon Sanders, Head of Television at Amazon MGM Studios. “Created and directed by Tim Miller, Blur Studio and Supervising Director Dave Wilson, each episode takes our global Prime Video customers on a brand new journey with stunning animation and imaginative storytelling.”

This is certainly an interesting new addition for Amazon and I have a feeling that the series will end up being quite well received. Granted, as with Love Death and Robots, there will probably be good and bad episodes, but when they are good, they are Really good, and I think it will help players have a direct connection to these series and characters.

We actually have a release date for the series, and it’s later this year, on December 10, 2024. I’m really looking forward to it, and I’d be happy to see 15 or 30 more games come out like this in the future, even without having seen them.
