2024 Olympic Games: Devin Booker reveals what it’s like to play for Team USA

The biggest names on Team USA during the 2024 Olympics were undoubtedly LeBron James and Steph Curry.

Yet it wasn’t just this dynamic duo that contributed to America’s victory; everyone had their part to play.

Devin Booker, for example, had to strengthen his defense on the perimeter and act more as an accurate shooter.

He rose to the challenge and was a solid defender, averaging 11.7 points, 2.7 rebounds and 3.2 assists while shooting 56.5% from beyond the arc.

His game was so outstanding that head coach Steve Kerr praised him after the gold medal win against France and named him over Ben Goliver from ^ “Washington Post: The Secret World”.

A thoughtful Booker spoke about the experience of playing with LeBron and Steph and how it compared to the other times he played for Team USA after their last game in Paris, via Marc J. Spears of Andscape.

“This experience was completely different from the first one. I don’t want to diminish that, but the atmosphere, of course Stephen, LeBron coming to us, this experience is comparable to any other experience of my life.”

Booker can judge firsthand the differences between the 2024 and 2020 teams, but even watching them play, you could tell there was a world of difference between the energy of the crowd and the accomplishments achieved.

The fact that Booker was able to take on a smaller role, excel in it, and not get in the way of legends like Steph and LeBron is a testament to his will to win.

Both were at their best during these Olympic Games: Steph showed his “goodnight” celebration against the French and LeBron played well enough to be named the Most Valuable Player of the Olympic Games.

This is probably the best team Booker will ever play for, but since he is only 27 years old, he will likely get a chance to play on more Olympic teams.

Maybe one of them could become as legendary as the LeBron-Steph collaboration, but that’s unlikely. This was a once-in-a-lifetime moment and Booker made the most of it, helping the red, white and blue team to another gold medal.
